August 21st

Day 30 of 365

I've made it 30 days on project 365! Today is not only the Woodward Dream Cruise, but my folks' 29th anniversary. After my sister and I took them to dinner we went down to Woodward to watch the classic cars whiz by. SO much fun. My Dad is a big car guy, so he was in heaven :)

Can you guess which is my favorite?

Day 29 of 365

Feeling a little artsy with my curls. I've been sick all week and spending a lot of time resting. I'm getting a little antsy.

Day 28 of 365

Yes, another lovely sky.... I can't get enough!

August 18th

Day 27 of 365

I love it when the sky looks like it's opening up the heavens...

Day 26 of 365

This marks the beginning of the Woodward Dream Cruise. Now that I live in Ferndale, I can walk to Woodward to see the classic cars cruising by... for now, I'm pretty excited to see this long line of Prowlers in a traffic jam on the freeway! I love the mini Prowler being towed, too.

Day 25 of 365

My friend Colleen and her husband are doing some home improvements and after our dinner we took a trip to Home Depot. I told her the only way I'd go in with her was if I could play in the models...

August 15th

Day 24 of 365

There's nothing like warm banana bread... fresh out of the oven :)

Life's little pleasures!

Goodbye Miami. You will be missed.

Day 22 of 265

Walking out of the hotel this evening I was greeted by the sun shining brightly behind the clouds. It's heavenly :)

August 12th

Day 21 of 365

The company gave us the aternoon and evening free today. After some fun in the sun we headed to South Beach for some seafood. I was amazed (and a little grossed out) that they served the shrimp whole... nonetheless this still made me smile. I LOVE seafood. This was so good; and FYI I shared with a friend. There's no way I could finish this all by myself!

August 11th

Day 20 of 265

Dinner with my new team at AGO in South Beach. Had to order a Pomegranate Martini (my fav drink)... it was so HOT on the patio where we ate!

August 10th

Day 19 of 365

The Fountainbleu Hotel, one of the hotel hosting our National Sales Meeting, had some of the most delcious desserts. I am a sucker for anything chocolate!

August 9th

Day 18 of 365

Today I arrived in Miami and when I finally got to my hotel, I was starving. I grabbed a couple coworkers and headed down to the hotel restaurant. This was my view :)

Day 17 of 365

My amazing friend Lauren is 7 months pregnant with baby Kinley... today was her baby shower. I'm a big fan of home-made things and made a door sign for baby. I had so much fun making it and I hope Kinley enjoys and uses it for years to come :)
I'll be in Miami the 9th-14th, so I'll post photos when I return next weekend! Have a great week!

August 7th

Day 16 of 365

The sky never ceases to amaze me. It looked like it was going to storm and we only got a little sprinkle. Then, the sun began to set and it set the clouds on fire.

August 6th

Day 15 of 365

Not much to say. How can you NOT smile?

August 5th

Day 14 of 365

It was absolutely perfect outside today. I sat under a tree enjoying the breeze during lunch. It made my heart so happy!

Day 13 of 365
My Etsy order finally came in the mail :)

I absolutely adore this necklace and (bonus!) the seller sent me a surprise pair of dangle pearl earrings too! If you've never checked out Etsy, you must. It's a store front for people buying and selling homemade items. I could spend all day (and all of my bank account) on this site! And check out Smile Sophie- she's on vacation now so the shop's closed, but her jewelry rocks!

August 3rd

Day 12 of 365

Did you ever stare up at the sky and try to find shapes in the clouds? I still do ;)

Work with me here. Doesn't this cloud remind you of the racing snail from The Neverending Story? Ooodles and ooodles of smiles!

Day 11 of 365

Doing a bt of editing today. Still learning Photoshop... but having fun. I figured out how to actually remove people from a picture. How cool is that? Here's my favorite so far... This little girl is so beautiful. She's going to turn some heads in about 16 years!

Day 10 of 365

Wow, it's August already? Today's photo was captured by my best friend and soulmate, Kelly. She sent me this today and it made my heart SO happy. Logan will be two in December and I just love his sneaky grin. I can't helo but laugh when I look at this photo!

Day 9 of 365

Driving the 45 minutes from my folks' house to my own can sometimes be daunting, since I do it often. Today was glorious, however, since I could admire the sunset from (you guessed it) my side view mirror. Hey, I've got to look there every once in a while anyway :) I suppose this wasn't the safest thing to do, snapping a photo going 78 mph on the highway...

Day 8 of 365

As I was driving home today I was thinking about my friend and my sister who are both moving this week to different states. It's bittersweet to think of them leaving. They're moving on to new ventures and I won't get to see them as often. My heart was sad. But then I looked up to the sky and saw the thin blanket of clouds attempting to hide the sun and I realized that nothing will ever change the love I have for them. Not even hundreds of miles of distance.

Yeah, I can be corny sometimes.

July 29th

Day 7 of 365

Everyday when I come home from a long day of work (or play) my Bella greets me at the door. She's the perfect cat. She snuggles with me on the couch and on Saturday mornings when I sleep in and she's super playful. This morning she squeezed herself onto the bathroom window ledge and was staring down a squirrel in the yard next door. I couldn't help but giggle :)

July 28th

Day 6 of 365

I have a new neighbor that moved in last month and with her she brought new life into the upstairs hallway. I love all the colors of this little guy and each day when I walk out my door I can't help but smile. I do not have a green thumb and tend to abolish any plantlife I bring home, so it is nice to have someone else caring for something so beautiful that I can enjoy :)

Day 5 of 365

Every once in a while I pamper myself. It doesn't happen often, but every few months I go to the salon and get my hair done. I think every woman should take time to relax and induldge. Lovin' my new color :)

July 26th

Day 4 of 365

What makes me happy in my career? Libraries.

Librarians. Other people who love libraries. Libraries are often times the center of the community, a place for the meeting of minds, spot for free wifi, where many start for job seeking services. You can lose yourself in a book, check out movies and gain access to electronic resources filled with any kind of information you'd ever need. Libraries are pretty cool!

Day 3 of 365

On our way home from the lake we drove through Pinckney which is located right next to Hell. Didn't think it was that close, did ya? Actually, Hell is a beautiful place here in the mitten. There's also a Paradise City, MI in the Upper Peninsula. It's gorgeous there, too. How does this not make you giggle?

July 24th

Day 2 of 365

We spent the day on Joslin Lake in Gregory, MI and the sun painted the most beautiful colors on the sky. There was a lone sailboat in the water and I ran out to the dock to snap some photos. Simply stunning. I love living in Pure Michigan.

Happiness Is: The Beginning

Here's my twist to the 365 Project! I'll post one photo everyday for a year. Each photo I capture will be of something that made me smile or made my heart happy that day.

Day 1 of 365: July 23rd

Nothing particularly special about today. Listen with your heart, the fortune says. Trying to do more of this everyday.
